Homemade Orange and Lemon Disinfectants

I found this simple, very inexpensive recipe for a homemade, environmentally friendly, all-purpose, household disinfectant. Just fill up a glass jar with a citrus peel of your choice and pour in some white vinegar to the brim. Leave to sit for 2 weeks and then use as you would your regular disinfectants. I made orange and lemon. I just recycled a couple of my empty salsa jars. You can use whatever jars you want. Mason jars would be great for this. I've had my homemade disinfectants sitting since April 18th and I opened the orange jar yesterday to check how it smelled and voila, it smells like orange. I don't know about anyone else but the smell of a disinfectant is important to me. Why not try this for yourself?

  1. Once I get my stuff together I'm going to do this too. Thanks for the info. I'm tired of buying disinfectants that are harmful. But having a sterile home is important to me.

  2. Love your blogs, Rachele. Going to try this disinfectant as soon as I can. I use vinegar for everything, so why not make it smell nice. Your introduction is very inviting. Love U, U know who.
